Class Context Sheet
When employed effectively, data can have a very positive impact on pupil progress. To use data effectively, teachers must have a secure understanding of which data is relevant for them and their pupils. Teachers should log pupils’ previous attainment data such as reading ages or progress made against the national curriculum and set targets for each pupil, which stretch and challenge them but are achievable. This data should then be used by the teacher to inform future lessons in terms of differentiation and ensuring that work is matched to pupils’ needs.
A good way to evidence that you are using data effectively to plan your lessons is to use a context sheet
